The answer is "NO". I don't own a smart phone, no Ipad, no gaming consoles, no tablets. What I own is a simple mobile phone (a pay-as-you-go), which I don't use. It's there for emergencies. If, for example, I go somewhere to the middle of nowhere and need to call a taxi or someone else, that's when I will want to use my mobile phone. Other than that, it just lies dormant in my home, and I only use it once every 2-3 months, calling my landline, so that it doesn't get locked.
I own a laptop. Can't do without it. Am hooked to it. How else would I be talking to others online? And I love playing PC games, and instead of using the Encyclopedia Britannica when I am looking for something, which I used to do in the olden days, I now use the internet. So there is that. But I don't have any other gadget, and don't want one. Neither do I care for those new watches that seem to do everything except cook me a meal. Not interested.
Wow, Enclopedia Britannica, now there's a blast from the past!
I wouldn't say I'm a slave to it but I moved back from an iphone back to an android, no ipads or tablets, only one console which is down out of date given the next version (PS5) will be out before Christmas and I still have and old PS3 that serves me well. The internet is my vice it's my "TV" given that I don't really watch terrestrial or cale TV and haven't for a few years prefering stream sites instead like Netflix or Amazon Prime TV.
Oh, I loved playing on my Mega Drive and SNES in the 90s. And I remember I also had a Sega handheld. But I find it much easier now to play on the computer, and there are now so many different types of games. Also, you had to plug the Mega Drive and SNES into the TV, so either you watched TV or played a game. Playing on my laptop, I can do both at the same time.
I started of with a Sega Mastersystem II with build in Sonic The Hedgehog and then went on to s SNES then PSX, but mainly It's just the PC and apart from Minecraft I don't really play much. Did buy a Sega Mega Srive bundle on steam and got a load of reasonable nostalgic games for a good price.
